Resident obligations

What every resident should know

01
Stay period within passport validity

As a rule, the stay period is granted only within the remaining validity of your passport. If renewing a passport is practically impossible, the validity may be regarded as six months for one grant.

02
Job and income reporting for employment-eligible foreign nationals

Holders of D-7, D-8, D-9, E-1 to E-10, F-2, F-4, F-6, and H-2 status must report their occupation and annual income when applying for foreigner registration or a stay-related permission.

03
Proof of school enrollment (ages 6–18)

Registered or domestic-residence foreign nationals aged 6 to 18 must report their elementary, middle, or high-school enrollment status. Those not enrolled should be marked as not enrolled.

04
Tuberculosis certificate for designated high-risk countries

Visa applicants seeking to stay longer than 90 days who are nationals of countries designated as high risk for tuberculosis must submit a tuberculosis certificate. The designated-country list may change, so confirm the current requirement with Hi Korea or the competent Korean mission.
